Police investigating a machete attack on a 16-year-old girl have made a third arrest.

The schoolgirl was walking with two friends outside Londos on Prescot Road in Fairfield at around 9pm on Sunday April 28 when she was attacked. Shocking CCTV footage seen by the ECHO, which we have chosen not to share, shows her assailant creep up behind the group and strike the girl with a weapon, before fleeing the scene on a bike.

The victim sustained head injuries and was taken to hospital. She is recovering following treatment in hospital.
