FORMER Scissor Sisters frontman Jake Shears cut an impressive figure when he performed on Saturday's Main Stage at the Isle of Wight Festival.

Shears, fresh from playing an extended run of the classic show, Cabaret, at London's West End, he was always going to give a typically flamboyant, highly charged performance, in front of such a big and responsive festival crowd.

As expected, Shears performed a lot of Scissor Sisters hits, which included the band's first UK number one, I Don't Feel Like Dancin', and the disco version of Pink Floyd classic, Comfortably Numb.

His usually magnetic and charismatic stage presence proved infectious, with the crowd responding in almost equal measures, as he belted out classics such Take Your Mama and George Michael's Freedom.

To rapturous applause and cheering, Shears wrapped up his set with the fans favourite, Filthy/Gorgeous.
