Scot Soul win this week's Pitch Battle heat
Week two of Pitch Battle is done and dusted and another talented vocal group – Scot Soul – are heading straight into the live final to join last week's winners Leeds Contemporary Singers.
Alongside the deserving winners, this week was packed full of incredible groups – The City Academy Songbirds, Soul Train, Out Of The Blue, Fly Boys and The Noteables – all who really pulled out the stops.
However, after hearing all the Showstoppers, Pitch Perfect-esque Riff-Offs and Solo performances Scot Soul were pit against barbershop quartet group Fly Boys, who took it in turns to perform Chaka's iconic hit 'Aint Nobody'.
As is now tradition, during a pause in the song, the superstar herself walked up to Scot Soul and joined in with them to show they had won the spot in the final – and is easily the best way to pick winners, ever.
However, some viewers got really annoyed at Gareth Malone for talking over the singers, especially when he thought they were doing a bad job of things...
#PitchBattle please switch Gareth's mic off when acts are singing

Please, sound guys, turn Gareth's microphone down! Can't hear the singers! #PitchBattle

Can someone switch Gareth Maline's mic off when folk are performing #PitchBattle

I like the way the BBC sound engineers don't care and play Gareth's comments over the choirs #PitchBattle

Stop talking Gareth. We can all hear you. #pitchbattle

And some people were still annoyed about believing the whole thing was ONLY for a capella groups (as opposed to a cappella groups and groups with musical backing), and became Wikipedia for the evening:
I am confused with #PitchBattle Some are Capella, others not?? 🤔 pic.twitter.com/BPcSayikcB

I'm sorry, why are there groups that aren't singing acapella on this show?? #PitchBattle #WhatsThePoint

Confused by #PitchBattle 🤔 Acapella group vs choir-with-backup-band unfair. Producers need to decide on their product! Which is it? @BBCOne pic.twitter.com/Dv5GafKpgJ

Pitch Battle returns to BBC One next Saturday (July 1) at 7.30pm.
