Scots park taped off by police as officers launch death probe after body find

A death probe is underway after the body of a man was found in a Scots park. The alarm was raised this afternoon after the grim discovery was made in Glasgow.

Officers from Police Scotland placed a cordon around a section of Elder Park, on the city's Govan Road, preventing the public from gaining access.

The park remains taped off following the 2.55pm incident, and officers are now investigating to establish the exact circumstances.

Glasgow Live reports it is believed there are no suspicious circumstances in the death of the man, who has not yet been identified.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "We received a report of the sudden death of a man in Elder Park, Govan Road, Glasgow, around 2.55pm on Monday, 24 June, 2024.

"The death is currently being treated as unexplained but not believed to be suspicious." The age of the man is also not known at this stage.
