Scots pensioner fighting for life after being hit by car in Glasgow

A Scots pensioner is fighting for his life in hospital after being hit by a car in Glasgow.

Officers from Police Scotland scrambled to the rush-hour crash a Clarkston Toll at around 5:20pm on Friday 17 May.

Emergency services attended and the 86-year-old male pedestrian was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital. Medical staff describe his condition as critical.

The 54-year-old male driver of the Mercedes GLE was uninjured.

The road was locked down with several roads closures in place for hours as cops investigated.

Sergeant Scott Gourlay said: “I would like to appeal to anyone who was in the area, who has not yet spoken to police, to contact us. If anyone has a dash cam, please pass on any relevant footage to us as it could assist us in establishing the full circumstances of this incident.”
