Scots teen seals Man Utd transfer as Fife wonderkid opens up on dream move to Old Trafford

A 15-year-old Fife kid has earned a dream move to Manchester United.

Camron Mpofu was brought up in Kirkcaldy and played for the Real Fife youth team before he moved south of the border. He came through the youth academy at Reading, joining the Royals after a successful six-week trial, and it was while playing for the Berkshire club he caught the eye of Old Trafford talent spotters.

Mpofu made his youth international debut earlier this season when he played for the Under-15 side against Spain in Hong Kong in April. He was also called up by the Auld Enemy England for a training camp. But he will play his club football for English Premier League giants Manchester United now after joining the Under-16s side. The striker took to Instagram to express his delight at the move: “I’m proud to officially announce my signing for Manchester United.

"I’d like to thank everyone who has helped me on this journey so far, especially my family, and the coaches and staff at Reading. The hard work continues.”
