The four nominees for the 2023/24 Scottish Football Writers' Young Player of the Year have been unveiled.

In the running for the accolade are Aberdeen's Connor Barron, Lyall Cameron of Dundee, Motherwell's Lennon Miller and David Watson of Kilmarnock. They will vie to follow in the footsteps of Max Johnston who clinched it last year while at Motherwell, before making a remarkable move to Sturm Graz due to his impressive form.

Despite Aberdeen's lacklustre season, 21 year old Barron has shone in most of his performances, leaving fans disheartened as he appears set to depart in the summer. Cameron, also 21, has been one of the highlights of a noteworthy season for Dundee, helping them secure an unanticipated top six spot and netting five goals in the process.

At a mere 17 years old, Miller is already considered one of Motherwell's top players and is tipped for a significant transfer either within Scotland, England or overseas following some stylish midfield displays. Meanwhile, Watson, 19, brings energy and determination to Kilmarnock's midfield and has also started finding the back of the net.

To qualify for this award, players must be under 23 and be eligible to represent Scotland. The winner will be revealed in the upcoming days before receiving his award at the SFWA awards dinner on May 19, reports Football Scotland.

The nominees for the Scottish Football Writers' Manager and Player of the Year will also be announced in due course.
