A passer-by took the perfect wedding proposal photograph of an oblivious couple, who were having the romantic moment in a secluded spot by the Durdle Door in Dorset.

There is a search for the mystery pair, as the picture was taken from a unique vantage point which captured both the natural structure and the couple in the middle of the proposal.

Tracey Hollis-Rowe, 44, was photographing idyllic Durdle Door in Dorset when a man and woman appeared in the foreground.

The man, as she snapped photographs of the scene, suddenly knelt down on one knee and produced a jewelry box containing an engagement ring.

His partner put her hand through her hair and looked shocked as he seemingly asked her to marry him.

Ms Hollis-Rowe didn't want to stay and infringe on the tender moment so quickly walked away.

She wants to know, however, whether the woman said "yes", and to show them the photograph so has appealed for them to reach out to her.

Tracey, an animal artist from Leigh, Greater Manchester, who was on holiday in Dorset with her husband, said she would 'love' the couple to see the photo of their special moment.

She said: "We had a day walking the coastal path and I noticed the gentleman down on one knee as I was photographing beautiful Durdle Door.

"It was the first time we saw the couple and I thought something was up as he was on one knee but then I saw the ring in the box.

"I didn't want to spoil the moment so we just carried on walking but I would love to know if she accepted his proposal.

"He was still on one knee as we continued on our way. That was the last I saw of them.

"Hopefully we witnessed a happy moment for the couple and I would love them to see the photo."
