Secret Service agent says she would rather go to jail than take a bullet for Donald Trump

A Secret Service agent has provoked uproar for stating she would not take a bullet for President Donald Trump.

Kerry O’Grady wrote a Facebook post during the Presidential election last year where she said she would rather go to jail than stand in the line of fire for her new boss.

The experience Secret Service agent is the special agent in charge of the Secret Service’s Denver district and manages all presidential visits to the city.

Addressing the Hatch Act – which bans federal employees from making political statements on social media – she wrote: ”As a public servant for nearly 23 years, I struggle not to violate the Hatch Act. So I keep quiet and skirt the median.

“To do otherwise can be a criminal offence for those in my position. Despite the fact that I am expected to take a bullet for both sides.

“But this world has changed and I have changed. And I would take jail time over a bullet or an endorsement for what I believe to be disaster to this country and the strong and amazing women and minorities who reside here.”

Referencing her support for Hillary Clinton, O’Grady added: “Hatch Act be damned. I am with Her.”

The message was later deleted from her Facebook page but O’Grady is now being investigated after at least one complaint was made about her.

Responding to the uproar about the post, O’Grady told the Washington Examiner that she had written the post after Trump was accused of sexually abusing women.
