Selling Sunset cast and filming secrets: The juicy details Netflix doesn’t reveal on screen
Multi-million dollar properties, unbelievably glam estate agents and a whole load of Stateside sunshine make Selling Sunset the ultimate guilty pleasure.
The Netflix series, devised by Adam DiVello, the reality TV mastermind behind The Hills and Laguna Beach, is back for its third season which will bring more than a little dose of Los Angeles glam to the British summer.
Selling Sunset follows the lives of the agents at the Oppenheim Group, chronicling their personal highs and professional lows (and vice versa) for us to gorge on from our own humble living rooms.
But while the show might first appear to be a warts and all look at the goings on, there’s plenty that doesn’t make it on screen.
Here are all the juicy details you don’t get to see...
There are heaps of Oppenheim Group estate agents who aren’t featured

The show features seven main agents - Christine Quinn, Chrishell Stause, Mary Fitzgerald, Heather Young, Amanza Smith, Maya Vander and Davina Portratz - alongside brothers Jason and Brett Oppenheim.
But in real life there are a whole host of other employees at the brokerage, with a further four being listed alongside three other staff members.
One of their celebrity clients is Orlando Bloom

Jason was keen to keep the identity of one of his celebrity sellers a secret in season two but a quick snoop online soon reveals that the dreamy bachelor pad he was showing Chrishell belonged to Orlando Bloom.
The Oppenheim Group were charged with selling Bloom’s Beverly Hills abode when he shacked up with now-fiancee Katy Perry. Unfortunately, it seems the superstar realtors haven’t managed to earn that all-important commission yet as the property is still listed on their website. If you have a cool £7.9 million spare, it could be all yours…
Davina’s $75m listing is still on the market too

Another house that is apparently yet to sell is Davina's $75m compound. The realtor was insistent that she’d be able to shift the sprawling property and begged the Oppenheim brothers to let her list it.
However, the seven-bedroom and 10-bathroom house is still up for grabs. Enquires should probably be from billionaires only.
Heather’s fiance is also a celebrity estate agent

Heather's relationship with Tarek El Moussa - who recently popped the question - was a big talking point in series two.
However, the show didn’t delve into his life much or reveal that he is also a celebrity estate agent (which now, in 2020, is definitely a thing).
Tarek, 38, hosts Flip or Flop with his former wife Christina Anstead. The show, now in its eighth season, sees the couple buy rundown homes for low prices and “flip” them into luxury locations before selling them on again.
Christina and Tarek split in 2016 but remain on good enough terms to continue working together and in 2018, they co-founded a real estate education course, Real Houses Elevated.
Netflix doesn’t pay for the agents’ styling, hair or make-up

In an interview with Refinery29, Christine revealed that the production budget doesn’t quite stretch to cover her outlandish outfits or styling for any of the stars.
She said: “Netflix doesn't pay for anything. I pay for my own hair and makeup and wardrobe and everything like that, and it's worth it.
“I have fun with it, and I know that people love to watch it and be like, ‘What is she going to do next?’”
Some of Christine’s antics are too OTT to show

For Halloween, Christine “wrapped [her Lamborghini] all in blood like a zombie hit it,” but executive producer Adam DiVello decided it was a little too much to show on TV.
“What she’s not telling you is that it looks like they hit a human being,” DiVello said. “There’s a sliding handprint on the hood of the car.”
Jason used to be a hotshot lawyer

While it’s hard to imagine Jason doing anything but barking orders in the office and showing people around glitzy million-dollar homes, he forged a hugely successful career as a lawyer before turning his attention to Hollywood properties.
He studied law at Berkeley and graduated first in class, according to the brokerage’s website, before joining an international law firm and working on numerous high-profile cases - including one argued at the US Supreme Court.
And he... collects antique books

Including his hobby in the series would admittedly be a little dull, but let's just take a moment to acknowledge this truly unexpected obsession.
Mary earnt enough cash to buy a Maserati - in just 12 months
A post shared by Mary Fitzgerald (@themaryfitzgerald) on May 27, 2020 at 9:15pm PDT
While it’s clear the agents can - and do - make a lot of cash, the exact amount they pocket is never quite clear.
In a recent interview though, Mary revealed that she made enough money last year to make a seriously impressive purchase. No, not another designer handbag or luxury holiday - she told Version that she bought a luxury Maserati car. Bravo.
And secretly hired security guards for her wedding

Mary was determined that her big day would go off without a hitch and wasn’t about to let her warring co-stars ruin things.
While the episode gave the impression Amanza was something of a bridesmaid-meets-security guard, Mary has since revealed she hired the real thing to keep the peace.
Speaking to ScreenRant, she said the ladies were told “they would be quietly escorted” out if they caused any trouble. Eeek.
