Selly Oak police 'hit the jackpot' after dawn drugs raid

West Midlands Police told how they 'hit the jackpot' after a dawn drugs raid in Birmingham today. A man and a teenager were held after police discovered Class A and B drugs, weapons and a large quantity of cash.

Police "acted on intelligence" when they carried out a raid at an address in Hubert Croft, Selly Oak, at around 5am this morning, Wednesday, June 19. Drugs including cocaine, along with a samurai sword and rambo knife were found.

A 20-year-old man was arrested at the address on suspicion of possession of Class A and Class B drugs with intent to supply. A 16-year-old boy was also arrested on suspicion of possession of Class A and Class B drugs with intent to supply, and for possession of offensive weapon. They remain in custody.

Taking to X, Birmingham West Priority Crime Team posted: "PCT Officers this morning assisted fellow colleagues in @WMPolice executing a Warrant in @sellyoakWMP. Officers 'hit the jackpot,' when they opened the hidden bag, located bellow. X1 Samurai Sword & X1 Rambo Knife also recovered & 2 Arrests made #SpaceforTwo #LifeorKnife

Police said they're working day in day out to take dangerous weapons and drugs off the streets of the city. They are asking anyone who suspects suspicious activity in their area to contact them via Live Chat on their website or by calling 101.
