Seoul crowd crush leaves South Koreans heartbroken

Emotions ran high as hundreds of mourners came to Seoul Plaza on Monday morning to pay tribute to the victims of a crowd surge that killed more than 150 people on Saturday night.

The number of deaths from the crush during weekend Halloween celebrations increased to 154, 26 of whom are foreigners, while another 33 people remain seriously injured, authorities said.

South Korea’s Prime Minister is promising the government will “thoroughly investigate” in the incident. Han Duck-soo assured the government will “do its best to make necessary improvements” to prevent another disaster happening again.
