Seth Rogen makes digs at Game of Thrones season 8 finale during Preacher panel

Seth Rogen used his Preacher panel at San Diego Comic-Con to make numerous digs at the controversial Game of Thrones season eight finale, and the absence of the show’s executive producers from the convention.

When asked if Preacher’s last season would be satisfying, Rogen joked: “I’m here, at least, so I think that’s a good sign. I’m willing to show my face.”

Game of Thrones’s executive producers David Benioff and D B Weiss pulled out of the show’s Comic-Con panel just days before the event.

Although Rogen didn’t explicitly refer to Game of Thrones, the answer he gave about the plotting of his comic book series was clearly a dig at the fantasy epic’s much-criticised conclusion.

“There was a world where we could have maybe extended it longer,” said Rogen, “but to us it felt like [it was good] having a show where nearly every episode was propelling the story forward, and moving towards a final conclusion… in a plotted-out way that was hopefully fast-paced and satisfying – you know, like the end of a TV show.”

Preacher’s fourth and final season will launch on Amazon Prime on Monday 5 August 2019.
