Seventeen fans 'proud' as K-pop act make Glastonbury Festival history

Fans shared they are "proud'" of Seventeen following the pop band's debut at Glastonbury Festival. Despite being the first K-pop act to appear at Glastonbury Festival, Seventeen confidently strolled onto the Pyramid Stage and delivered an electric and crowd-pleasing set.

"We are just extremely honoured to be here" they said as they took to the stage and later unveiled a flag with the message "Seventeen right here making history at Glastonbury". Fans at the Pyramid Stage, many of whom likely waiting for headliner Dua Lipa, were thrilled with some revellers streaming for the band.

There's no doubt they will have created some new fans and left some Googling who they are. The reaction online was similar with many impressed with their routines, songs and overall performance.

Many fans shared they were "proud" to see the huge band make their Worthy Farm debut. One shared: "I am so proud to see Seventeen at Glastonbury! What a performance".

Aidan Linning shared "Enjoyed that more than I thought I would" while another commented: "Seeing tweets of locals saying they enjoyed Seventeen set. I'm so happy for seventeen.

One fan wrote: "Just thinking about how their music and their performance got people to easily vibe with them too. You can really see the passion they have to bring to the best stages and sing their songs to everyone!

"That's how so many people have come to appreciate Seventeen as a group too."

The band comprises of 13 members, namely S Coups, Jeonghan, Joshua, Jun, Hoshi, Wonwoo, Woozi, DK, Mingyu, The8, Seungkwan, Vernon, and Dino. The name Seventeen is derived from the expression "13 members + 3 teams + 1 group" and represents how the 13 members are divided into three different teams and come together to form one cohesive group.

The band combines a mixture of genres, including K-pop, synth-pop, hip hop, R&B and EDM. They have surged to being one of the biggest acts in the world and only Taylor Swift sold more records than them in 2023.
