DC has tried its best to make amends for Green Lantern, like letting Ryan Reynolds switch allegiance to Marvel and giving Mark Strong a role in the upcoming Shazam! movie.

Oh, and not giving fans a sequel, of course.

That's not necessarily enough, though, as Mark Strong has warned that he has "unfinished business" with the DCEU, and will be using his role as Doctor Sivana as an opportunity for payback.

Fortunately for us, it's going to be the good kind of payback, as Mark has promised he's going to revel in Doctor Sivana's 'evilness'.

Saying that playing "an evil bastard" is the "most fun", Mark reflected on his turn as Sinestro in Green Lantern, and how he's going to use the film's failure to Shazam!'s advantage.

"I was Sinestro in Green Lantern which I thought was a rather good film but it didn't do what they wanted," he told Celebretainment. "I feel like I've got unfinished business in the DC world.

"I played a pretty evil character in that and he was meant to get even worse in the second one, but that never happened, but I think I'm going to get the chance to do that in Shazam!."

We're going to have to take his word for it for now, as the movie isn't slated for release until 2019 – and any behind-the-scenes progress is staying strictly under wraps.

Shazam! will follow the story of Billy Batson (Asher Angel), an orphan whose life is transformed when he's turned into adult superhero Shazam, who will be played by Thor alum Zachary Levi.

DC's long-running and beloved hero Shazam will get his solo debut on April 5, 2019.
