Shepherd's delight! Stunning sunsets captivate UK before Hunter's Moon

Large parts of the UK were treated to stunning autumnal sunsets this week as the skies turned purple, orange and red.

Onlookers in Wiltshire, North Yorkshire, and Devon, among others, witnessed beautiful sunsets thanks to perfect conditions and cloud cover.

In some areas, October’s ‘Hunter’s Moon’ was even lit up in orange and yellow as it appeared shortly after sunset.

The Met Office said the sunsets were particularly striking due to high pressure trapping small particles and dust, along with cloud cover at just the right height to let the sunlight through.
