Hold the phone, people, Anna Dello Russo - aka the high priestess of sartorial peacocking - is selling off her wardrobe.

Yes, you heard correctly, the Italian stylist, creative consultant and Editor-at-Large of Japanese Vogue has decided to have a spring clean.

Famed her colourful, outré outfits, Dello Russo has long been one of the most prominent - and outrageously dressed - stars of the street style scene.

And while there are some jazzy dressers out on those streets, none can possibly have a wardrobe so choc-a-bloc with colourful zaniness as the onetime editor of Italian Vogue.

Anna Dello Russo has a vibrant and playful approach to dressing. She's spent over a decade being swarmed by street style photographers, eager to get a shot of her outfits; colourful, outlandish and mostly designer and couture.

But now, after all these years of amassing her outlandish gems (some of which she appeared only to wear once), Dello Russo has decided its time to part with a vast chunk of the collection. Which, it turns out, is good news for the rest of us.

The prices, which range from £15 for accessories to £700 for outerwear, are very reasonable when one takes into account the fabulousness of the clothes in question, and 100 per cent of the proceeds from both the Christie's and Net-a-Porter sale will go to the British Fashion Council Education Foundation.

The Net-a-Porter selection will, Dello Russo tells Vogue, focus on her "best flashy, splashy items” from the Noughties. "That was my real street-style era," she recalls.

In addition to the flash sale, 30 of her most precious archive pieces will be auctioned at Christie's on February 24.

Dello Russo is also publishing her first ever book, AdR Book: Beyond Fashion. Conceived with the help of her long-time friend and collaborator, Vogue Italia Art Director Luca Stoppini, the book will be sold exclusively on Net-a-Porter for two months before it goes on sale in April.
