Singer Cat Power Cancels Israel Show

American musician Cat Power has joined a list of artists, including Elvis Costello and the Pixies, who have canceled scheduled shows in Israel due to its conflict with the Palestinians.

Charlyn Marie Marshall, better known by her stage name Cat Power, was due to perform in Tel Aviv on Sunday.

But she has tweeted that due to "much confusion" she feels she cannot play for her Israeli fans and that she felt "sick in her spirit".

The musician, known for songs such as You May Know Him and Dreams, had faced calls to boycott the Jewish state.

British band The Klaxons, Gorillaz, Santana and Bjork have also called off concerts, without explaining why.

Power's announcement comes just days after Madonna revealed she plans to open her world tour in Israel and will spend two weeks in Tel Aviv prior to the debut rehearsing with her massive support crew.

Elton John and Paul McCartney have also resisted the pressure to cancel tour dates there.
