A sink hole has appeared in the middle of the road in a Fenland town. The hole has opened up at the Victoria Road junction with West Street in Wisbech. Images show that it is right manhole, with Cambridgeshire Highways on the scene 'looking into it'.

Posting on the Policing Fenland Facebook Page, a spokesperson said: "Please be aware we have had a report of a sink hole at Victoria Road junction with West Street, Wisbech. We sent officers to "look" into it (sorry its a classic!)

"Cambridgeshire Highways are on route to deal. Please be aware there may be some road closures put in place due to where the hole is."

A photo of the sinkhole shows that Police have cordoned off the area with traffic cones. As of yet, there are no reports that the road has been closed but this is likely to change so that the sink hole can be fixed.
