Sir Mick Jagger 'bought country estate while high on LSD'

Sir Mick Jagger apparently bought a country estate while high on LSD, according to what is being claimed as his secret autobiography.

The revelation, which is included in the 75,000 word memoir, says the 73-year-old rock star bought the historic Hampshire mansion Stargroves for £55,000 from Sir Henry Carden during the Seventies.

Despite it being bought while intoxicated, the property was put to good use as it was used as a recording venue by the Rolling Stones.

The iconic rock quartet recorded a number of albums and songs at Stargrove including Exile On Main Street, Sticky Fingers and It’s Only Rock ‘N’ Roll (But I Like It).

Sir Mick owned the property for over two decades until fellow music royalty Rod Stewart added the mansion to his collection of properties when he purchased it in 1998 for a whopping £2.5 million.

Publisher John Blake told the Spectator magazine he first read Sir Mick’s manuscript three years ago and has been trying to confirm its authenticity ever since.

He said: “Mick tells of buying a historic mansion, Stargroves, while high on acid and of trying out the life of horse-riding country squire.

“Having never ridden a horse before, he leapt on to a stallion, whereupon it reared and roared off ‘like a Ferrari’.

“He gave the stallion a thump on the forehead right between the eyes and slowed it down — otherwise the Stones’ story might have ended differently.”

It is being reported Sir Mick penned the manuscript during the Eighties and it includes tales from his heyday such as when his mother was horrified at the state of his hair when he returned from touring.

Mr Blake is adamant the memoir is authentic and said: “[Mick] has said again and again, in countless interviews, that he never will [write an autobiography]. Except what virtually nobody knows is that he already has.

“It is an extraordinary insight into one of the three most influential rock stars of all time – but the sad thing is, the public will probably never see it.”

A spokesperson for Sir Mick said Mr Blake has not been in contact with the singer and was unable to comment on any specific incidents.
