Six of the most ridiculously impractical Guinness World Records
It takes hard work, dedication and patience to be the best, but sometimes breaking a world record can also be extremely impractical.
From growing the world's’ longest fingernails to the longest eyelashes, becoming a Guinness World Record holder is a 24/7 job.
Here are six of the most impractical world records
Longest fingernails
Having the world’s longest fingernails may seem pretty cool, but it must make doing simple everyday tasks a pain.
Nail artist, Ayanna Williams, 60, has been growing her fingernails for almost 23 years ago and they now measure an incredible 576.4 cm (18ft. 10.9in).
Longest eyelash
You Jianxia of Changzhou, Jiangsu, China, holds the title for the longest eyelash, an impressive 12.40 cm (4.88 in) long.
She puts it down to being at one with nature, but having extraordinarily long eyelashes tickling your face could soon get annoying.
Tallest high top fade
Benny Harlem, of Los Angeles, California, has the tallest high top fade, at 52.0cm (20.5 in).
While it makes him stand out from the crowd, it can take him more than two hours to style his hair, plus getting through doors must be a bit of a nightmare.
Crazy coupe
John and Geof Bitmead of Ambrosden, UK, own the Largest Cozy Coupe which is 2.7 m (8 ft 10.2 in) long.
The Cozy Coupe is roadworthy, but it’s probably not the most practical vehicle for rainy days or long journeys.
Largest pram
The largest pram/stroller has an enclosure length of 1.38 m (4 ft 6.3 in) and was achieved by Jamie Roberts and Tom Koltun (both USA) in Chicago, Illinois.
It’s probably safe to say, there will never be a baby big enough to need it.
Ball of paint
Michael Carmichael of Alexandria, Indiana, has created the most layers in a ball of paint - approximately 17,994 on a baseball.
It has taken him and wife Glenda more than 40 years to create it, applying two coats of paint per day.
You'll definitely need a spare room and a lot of paint if you want to try and beat it.
Guinness World Records 2018 is out now.
