Small Plane Crashes Into Surf at New Hampshire's Hampton Beach

A small plane crashed into the surf at New Hampshire’s Hampton Beach on Saturday, July 29, video shows.

According to local news reports said the pilot of the craft was the sole occupant and was rescued by lifeguards and evaluated by EMS on the beach.

No injuries were reported.

Video filmed by Melinda Curtis, @melindasc3, shows the downed plane in the water as an individual swims away from it towards the beach. The video shows multiple people, described by Curtis as lifeguards, swimming out to meet the individual in the water.

Other eyewitnesses said the plane was pulling a banner which came detached and fell to the beach prior to the crash.

- Why are there men in the water? But he went trying.

MELINDA CURTIS: Wow. All the lifeguards are going out to help him. No, he was trying to steer to get away from people but in as close as possible to be safe, hopefully.
