SNL has made the Fresh Prince rap... really bleak

EVERYONE knows the rap to The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, it's super iconic and instantly recognisable as soon as someone does an elongated 'in' (we're talking about the TV-length version anyway by the way, absolutely no-one knows the full song).

When we heard that Saturday Night Live had taken the taken song and made a parody version, we were intrigued. And thankfully, it's really really good.

The SNL version features Chris Redd – who joined the cast for this season – as Will Smith, this week's guest host Jessica Chastain as an FBI agent and rapper Method Man as a gang leader.

Elsewhere on the show, there were jokes about President Donald Trump's health bill story, a game show called 'What Even Matters Anymore?' (brilliant) and a performance from Troye Sivan.

Recent episodes of Saturday Night Live have seen the cast hilariously poke fun at the Golden Globes, and Eminem surprising everyone with a 9-minute medley of his hits, including Rihanna collaboration 'Love the Way You Lie' and the Dido-featuring 'Stan' (although neither guest vocalist was there, Skylar Grey did a great job as stand-in).

The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air came to Netflix in its entirety at the end of 2016, and now that they've added all of Friends as well, we can spend days on end pretending that it's the 1990s all over again.
