Snow Closes Road Into Utah's Arches National Park During Holiday Weekend

The road into Arches National Park in Moab, Utah, was closed for about a day beginning on Friday, December 27, due to accumulating ice and snow, park officials said on Twitter.

Arches National Park officials closed the road early Friday afternoon and announced its re-opening on Saturday morning. The park was still under a “winter conditions” alert as of Monday.

When the park road reopened, officials advised drivers to put tire chains on vehicles with two-wheel drive. Hikers were also encouraged to use traction devices due to icy conditions.
