Snow Falls in Katoomba as Cold Snap Strikes Australia's Blue Mountains

A cold snap brought snow to Australia’s Blue Mountains in New South Wales early Tuesday morning, and heavy rain could hit the area by Tuesday evening. This video was taken from a home in Katoomba, New South Wales.

According to the Bureau of Meteorology, snow was starting to fall on the Great Western Highway at around 6 am local time.

The snow was affecting traffic conditions, according to reports from Live Traffic NSW. The highway remained open, but drivers were urged to use caution in the slick conditions.
