Snubbed sister Samantha Markle accuses Meghan’s mother Doria of ‘cashing in’ with Oprah interview
The estranged sister of Meghan Markle has accused the new Duchess of Sussex’s mother of “cashing in” by giving an interview with TV host Oprah Winfrey.
Samantha Markle, who wasn’t invited to the royal wedding between Meghan and Prince Harry, tweeted the criticism of Doria Ragland.
Ms Ragland was the only member of Meghan’s family to attend the ceremony at St George’s Chapel in Windsor on Saturday, after her father, Thomas Markle, failed to make the trip for health reasons.
Just days after the wedding, Samantha made the accusation against Doria after being called an “attention seeker” by a Twitter user.
She responded: “Even Doria cashed in talking to Oprah and some of the first photos out there only she could have had.”
Samantha, 53, who suffers from multiple sclerosis and is in a wheelchair, has herself given interviews for a number of media outlets about her half-sister.
She has also secured a book deal and released past photos of Ms Markle.

Following her numerous media appearances Samantha was called a “vulture” by Good Morning Britain host Piers Morgan.
He made the comment because she has written a book describing her sister as a “pushy princess”.
In response, Samantha called Mr Morgan a “pasty old troll”.
Meghan Markle’s story:
In her Twitter rant, Samantha said: “Excuse me but I’m an American citizen with freedom of speech and I don’t take cues.
“We had a right to defend ourselves and speak out against nasty British media if no one likes it that’s just too bad.”
After she was criticised, she added: “My haters are giving me a neck ache which is a really good excuse to get an Uber massage.”
Samantha announced recently that she is in discussions with Hollywood producers about turning her upcoming book, The Diary of a Princess Pushy’s Sister, into a movie or TV series.
Oprah Winfrey attended the royal wedding, and is said to have spent up to six hours with Ms Ragland in preparation for an upcoming television interview.
Meghan’s father, Thomas, 73, told TMZ on Saturday evening: “Now I pray that Harry and Meghan can go on a nice honeymoon and rest and relax, and all of my relatives will just shut up about everything.”
