SOAR announces country music show

Feb. 14—SOAR (Shaping Our Appalachian Region) has announced the Country Music Highway Tribute Show, which will take place in Russell, Louisa and Ashland this summer.

According to SOAR, the show is a partnership between communities, performing arts venues and tourism commissions all along the Country Music Highway. Each year, SOAR hosts three shows that feature up-and-coming stars. Local and regional food and arts and crafts vendors are featured, too.

Proceeds benefit organizations supporting the arts along the Country Music Highway.

The shows will be on June 1 in downtown Russell, July 13 in downtown Louisa and the Paramounts Arts Center in Ashland on a to-be-determined date.

As SOAR stated, the late Loretta Lynn, Keith Whitley and Naomi Judd, and Wynonna Judd, Chris Stapleton, Tyler Childers, Ricky Skaggs and Patty Loveless all got their start along the Country Music Highway.

Performers are to be announced later.
