Socially Distant Voting Booths Set Up in Voting Centers Across Maricopa County Ahead of August 4 Primary

Officials with the Maricopa County Elections Department in Arizona prepared voting centers ahead of the state primary on August 4, with special measures put in place to ensure people can vote safely as the state continues to battle the coronavirus.

This video shows officials using measuring tape to place voting booths six feet apart, placing yellow stickers throughout the voting center, and staff making use of sanitizer and cleaning voting equipment.

Erika Flores, Deputy Director of Communications with Maricopa County Elections Department, said, “We worked closely with Maricopa County Department of Public Health to implement safety measures” and said using stickers and placing booths six feet apart serve as “a visual cue” for voters. Flores said specific locations have been chosen as vote centers to allow for adequate social distancing for voters.
