Sony Pictures Wins Auction For ‘The Axmann Conspiracy;’ Black List Scribes Jacob Crane & Jonathan Stewart to Write

EXCLUSIVE: Sony Pictures has just won an auction for screen rights to the Scott Selby book The Axmann Conspiracy, which was published in 2012 by Berkley. The package came with Black List scribes Jacob Crane & Jonathan Stewart to adapt the book, and for Lynn Harris and Matti Leshem to produce through their Weimaraner Republic Pictures banner. SPE production co-prexy Hannah Minghella led the charge.

In the wake of World War II, a young U.S. Counter Intelligence Corps officer, Jack Hunter, uncovers a dangerous Nazi conspiracy for a Fourth Reich. This is the true story of how Hunter tracked down the men behind the conspiracy and altered the course of history forever. The plotter was Artur Axmann, a Hitler confidante and the Nazi national leader of Hitler Youth. After conscripting kids to fight in the waning days of WWII, he was among those in the bunker when Hitler killed himself. After nearly being killed along with two others who escaped the bunker, Axmann hunkered down with his plot and was eventually arrested when an Army counterintelligence operation sniffed out his plot to rekindle the Reich. He was tried at Nuremberg. SPE’s Minghella and Lauren Abrahams will oversee for the studio.

They scribes made the Black List for their script Black Winter. Weimaraner is also producing In The Deep for Sony. The scribes are repped by CAA, Oasis Media Group, and attorney Robbie Koch at Jackoway Tyerman. The author is repped by CAA and Trident Media Group’s Scott Miller.
