It’s been two decades since One Tree Hill first aired, but Sophia Bush and Hilarie Burton are closer than ever!

Bush celebrated Burton’s 42nd birthday on July 1 with a nostalgic tribute filled with photos of the friendship duo hugging throughout the years — dating all the way back to their One Tree Hill days!

In the caption, Bush, 41, penned a sweet message to her on-screen BFF and “sister” Burton, sharing that the pair’s love has only grown stronger over time.

“Same squeeze, all these years later,” she wrote. “Same love, just multitudes greater. You are another year wiser, more magnificent, more excited, motivated, sincere, hilarious, wicked, tender, and present.”

“Happy birthday sister,” she continued. “You make us all better, braver, safer, and honestly … cooler. There’s no one who does it like you, you fox!”

Bush concluded the post by urging her fans and followers to check out Burton’s birthday post, in which the actress asks for support in a case featured on her series, True Crime Story: It Couldn't Happen Here.

“Friends, check out Hilarie’s post yesterday to join in on her birthday wish,” Bush wrote. “And go show our gal some love!!”

Bush recently opened up about falling in love with One Tree Hill again on Drama Queens, her podcast with Burton and their former costar Bethany Joy Lenz.

When asked if they would reprise their roles on the June 27 edition of the podcast, Bush — who played Brooke — confessed that she would have never agreed to do it before the trio started their podcast.

"It is so interesting how doing this show has made me fall back in love, like maybe really truly in love for the first time with our show," the John Tucker Must Die star said. "And now I'm like, ‘Oh my god’ … I wanna do an episode of our show from this feeling.”

"I just feel so proud. I feel so much ownership of it,” she continued. “I feel like we made something really special.”

Last November, Bush and Burton did, however, step back into Brooke and Peyton’s shoes — albeit briefly — to recreate one of their most iconic scenes in a hilarious new TikTok.

In the re-enactment — which was filmed during a One Tree Hill 20th anniversary reunion — Bush acted out the dramatic moment Brooke confronts Peyton after she revealed feelings for Brooke’s boyfriend, Lucas (Chad Michael Murray).

"Spent the weekend in Tree Hill with my P. Sawyer," Bush captioned the video. "And ... we just had to."
