Forest Hill is a popular part of London for its quick links to the city centre, numerous parks nearby, lots of pubs and landmark museum.

The neighbourhood was named by The Sunday Times this year as one of the best places to live in all of London.

It strikes a balance between quiet and busy life, being very accessible to central London while being far enough away to have some green space and peace.

Forest Hill is bordered by green areas such as the Horniman Gardens and Blythe Hill Fields, giving residents lots of opportunities to spend time outside.

The railway station gives the people of Forest Hill links to the city centre, with it taking only 15 minutes to get to London Bridge.

It is also on the overground line and there are also lots of bus routes, making it an even more well-connected place to live.

It’s home to a celebrated museum called the Horniman Museum and Gardens, offering a range of activities for adults and children alike and it even has an aquarium.

The 16-acre gardens have a butterfly house, sunken and display gardens, a garden walk, a nature challenge and an animal walk home to goats, sheep, rabbits, alpacas and more.

As well as great transport links, the area is also brimming with things to do – shops, pubs and cafes.

The menu contains food from across Europe such as cilbir (Turkish eggs), haddock kedgeree, bubble and squeak, crumpet hollandaise, full English breakfasts and more.

Nearby, is Dartmouth Road which is known for the cafes and shops it has on offer for people to peruse.

There is a market on a Sunday at the Horniman museum which is a great way for Londoners to shop and relax without the hoards of people at markets closer to central London.
