Southeastern trains delayed by LLAMAS on the line

Commuters are used to signal failures and ill passengers holding up their trains but passengers this morning were delayed by something altogether more furry.

A group of LLAMAS on the line were responsible for Southeastern trains between Hildenborough and Sevenoaks in Kent stopping people from getting to work.

Between six and eight of the animals wandered onto the tracks at around 8.30am, adding even more hold ups to passengers after a faulty train brought them to a standstill.

A spokesman said: “We’re not sure how they got there or where they were going, but we can assume they weren’t trying to catch the train.

“As a safety measure we slowed trains running through the route and there have been minor delays as a result.”

Passengers tweeted their bewilderment at the unusual cause of their delayed commute:

Fortunately the llamas have now gone about their day and the delays are now over.

The spokesman added: “Our services are now back running as normal and the llamas haven’t been seen since 8.36am.”

Makes a change from leaves on the line.
