Space Jam 2 is happening... with Lebron James! Here's what we know so far from cast to release date
A sequel to the much-adored 1996 hit film Space Jam, is reportedly about to get a sequel.
The film is expected to return 20-years on from the iconic flick which starred basketball legend Michael Jordan - but this time another sporting superstar will jump onboard.

Taking the baton (or basketball) from Jordan is Los Angeles Lakers player LeBron James, according to reports.
Springhill Entertainment, LeBron James’ company, is believed to have signed a deal with Warner Bros as part of the project.
Loony Tunes’ Bugs Bunny is naturally expected to make a return featuring as point guard, with James as the small forward.
Who’s directing the project?

Springhill Entertainment shared an image on Instagram which appeared to display a locker room with notable cast names above.
Black Panther director Ryan Coogler is reportedly jumping on board the project with Terence Nance taking the directing role.
Speaking about Coogler, James told The Hollywood Reporter: “I loved his vision [for Black Panther]. The Space Jam collaboration is so much more than just me and the Looney Tunes getting together and doing this movie.
“It's so much bigger. I'd just love for kids to understand how empowered they can feel and how empowered they can be if they don't just give up on their dreams.
“And I think Ryan did that for a lot of people.”
What’s the reaction been so far?
As expected the announcement has sent most 90s kids into a frenzy with many left feeling emotional and nostalgic.
However, others are up-in-arms about whether Kobe Bryant should have taken the lead role instead of James.

Ryan Coogler's involvement in Space Jam 2 opens the door for a Michael Jordan and Michael B. Jordan scene.
And that's all that matters.— Plandy Presents... (@FormerlyMadAndy) September 20, 2018

LeBron James starring in Space Jam 2 is perfect. Because he is the sequel to Michael Jordan. Will never be as good as the original 😏
