Tim Walter will bring a special brand of football to Hull City, should he finally take over at the MKM Stadium in the coming days as talks continue.

City have been in discussions with the German boss for the past 10 days over him replacing Liam Rosenior who lost his job two weeks ago having guided the Tigers to seventh in the Championship table in his first full season in charge.

Walter's last job came in his native Germany with Hamburg and in a bid to find out more about the 48-year-old, the 1904 Club podcast spoke to HSV journalist Henrik Jacobs from the Hamburger Abendblatt, who covered the duration of Walter's two seasons with the 2. Bundesliga outfit.

Jacobs gave a detailed insight into Walter the man and the manager, his style of play and what makes him tick in a summary of what City fans can expect to see from their side next season, should Acun Ilicali conclude the deal to bring him from Germany's second biggest city to East Yorkshire.

"I can tell you that you will get a very special coach," Jacobs told the 1904 Club. "He's a very, very strong personality, very interesting coach with a very interesting style of football. I guess you will write a lot of stories about this kind of football, which kind of unique here in Germany.

"We called 'Tim Walter ball', which I think no other coach in Germany was able to get his name connected to his football. So yeah, the Tim Walter ball will come probably to Hull, as I heard. So I can tell you, you will have a lot of stories with him.

"When he came to Hamburg from the first moment, he played very spectacular, attractive football. It's kind of, I called it before, like heart attack football for the fans because they play with a lot of risk."
