Three opticians have raised £1,500 for Prostate Cancer UK by completing a golf challenge.

The trio, comprising Specsavers Worcester and Malvern's store director, Alan Richards; Malvern optical consultant, Dean Taylor; and Bromsgrove audiologist, Mike Walker, teamed up for the fundraising drive on Friday, June 21.

The 16-hour challenge saw the team take on 72 holes of golf over four successive rounds.

The gruelling day began at 4.15am at Ravensmeadow Golf Club in Worcester with the final swing made at 8pm.

Mr Richards said: "It was a long day, but we were really lucky with the weather.

"We’d like to say thank you for all the donations that helped us raise such an amazing amount for Prostate Cancer UK, and to Ravensmeadow Golf Club for kindly covering the green fees for the day."

Prostate Cancer UK focuses on raising awareness, patient support, research funding and campaigning for change.

The team's JustGiving page remains open for those wishing to donate (https://prostatecanceruk.org/).
