Spice Girls fans are in for a treat and an inevitable disappointment today. As the iconic girls band have announced a new UK tour, but without member Victoria Beckham.

Mel B, Mel C, Geri Horner and Emma Bunton will be reuniting and have announced the details via a video on their new social media account. In a mock news bulletin style video, the band announced their upcoming tour dates and that tickets will go on sale this Saturday at 10.30am.

The four remaining members made the announcement in typical tongue-in-cheek Spice Girls style. With Bunton opening by asking ‘Am I too old for bunches?’ the four then get into a mock argument over Geri Horner being the only one to ignore the memo of wearing black.

The video includes the announcement of the following upcoming tour locations: Manchester Etihad Stadium, Coventry Ricoh Stadium, Sunderland Stadium of Light, Edinburgh BT Murrayfield Stadium, Bristol Ashton Gate Stadium and London Wembley Stadium.

It’s been a decade since the band toured and it’s already being predicted that the tour announcement will ‘break the internet.’ Indeed, social media went into a frenzy back in February when all five members reunited at Geri Horner’s North London home – presumedly to discuss the upcoming tour.

Although Beckham won’t be joining the tour, she is still set to make a healthy profit from the proceeds. She owns a part of the band’s royalties as she helped in writing many of the band’s most well known songs.

A source told The Sun: “Girl power is back! This is the biggest music comeback of the decade and tickets are expected to sell like hot cakes when they go on sale at the weekend!”

It is also been confirmed that the four remaining members will be interviewed on The Jonathan Ross Show on Saturday which is set to air on ITV at 10.05pm.

It is not known why Victoria Beckham will not be joining the reunion tour. Beckham seems to be on good terms with her bandmates, being the first to post their February reunion photograph on social media and on Friday attended the Global Gift Gala with Mel C – who performed at the prestigious event.

However, Beckham has addressed her absence on her official Instagram account. While she still doesn’t give a specific reasons for not joining the Girls on the tour she wishes them the best with ‘being in the Spice Girls was a hugely important part of my life and I wish them so much love and fun’.

Mel B hinted at the tour minus Beckham last week on Halloween when she went dressed as her with the placard ‘No I am not going on tour.’

The official announcement was made at 3pm on Monday. The tour dates are across Summer 2019.
