Spotify comes to Roku, finally

Spotify comes to Roku, finally. roku, Media streaming, Spotify, Vevo, Roku 2 XS 0

Owners of Roku media streamers can finally breath a sigh of relief, as one of the most requested applications has finally arrived on the service. Spotify is finally on Roku... Woohoo!

Like with many of the music streaming service's apps on set-top-boxes and home cinema gear, including Virgin Media's TiVo box, Sonos and Onkyo's latter day range of receivers, you will need to have a Spotify Premium account to access tracks through a Roku device.

However, the Spotify Channel is fully featured and, while presented in a clean but basic fashion, gives you access to all of the millions of songs on the platform through intuitive menu systems.

It is currently available for all Roku 2 players and the Roku Streaming Stick. It will also be coming soon for Roku HD and Roku LT players.

If you don't already have a Spotify subscription, you can sign up for a completely free 30 day trial to the Premium service. After that, it will cost £9.99 per month.

Another channel to start on Roku players is Vevo, the music video service.
