St John's Residents Shovel Snow to Help Driver Stuck on Street

A group of people banded together to shovel snow and clear a pathway for a woman struggling to drive through a snowy street in St John’s, Canada, on Monday, January 20.

Environment Canada said “intense winds and record-breaking snowfall” bore down on Newfoundland on Friday, effectively shutting down parts of the state.

This video shows several people helping a woman to drive on snowy Gower Street in St John’s, with some people shoveling snow and directing the driver as another person pushes the vehicle.

“Helping to shovel a friend for only one minute when other people came out of nowhere. This is what community looks like,” Twitter user @HandyGirl3 said. Credit: @HandyGirl3 via Storyful
