Stacey Dooley and Kevin Clifton enjoy date night at the theatre

Kevin Clifton has published a rare photograph with girlfriend Stacey Dooley after the pair headed to the theatre for a date.

The Strictly pro, 36, watched Mamma Mia! with Dooley, 32, in London’s West End.

Clifton’s cousin, Sophie Matthew, is currently starring in the production as Lisa, one of the bridesmaids for lead character Sophie Sheridan.

It comes after months of fevered speculation that the pair are dating after winning Strictly Come Dancing 2018.

Clifton wrote: “So proud watching my cousin [Sophie] playing the lead in Mamma Mia! West End last night. You’re so talented and we had the best time!”

While the pair have never officially confirmed their romance, Dooley posted a photograph of the pair together in April and suggested they were an item in an interview with the Guardian’s G2.

“Kev and I have agreed not to go into too much detail about our private lives because you can’t really indulge that and then ask for privacy,” the presenter told the publication last month.

“That’s why we’ve turned down interviews that have offered us tens of thousands of pounds. What I am happy to say is Kev’s amazing, I’m happy, life happens, I’ve got an amazing career and I’m very lucky.”
