Stacey Solomon’s friends thought her baby shower was actually a secret wedding, her sister has revealed.

Jemma Solomon threw the expectant mum a lavish baby shower at the star’s Essex mansion last weekend, with many attending the pink-themed party.

However, upon receiving their invites, many of the presenter’s friends thought the party would be a wedding between Ms Solomon and her fiance Joe Swash.

Jemma told OK! Magazine that some attendees didn’t get the hint that it was a baby shower, despite it being decked with pink blossom, pink balloons and a tepee in honour of the couple’s unborn baby girl.

She said, "So many people messaged me like: ‘Is this a secret wedding?’ And I was like: ‘No! Does it not look like a baby shower?’"

Last week, the 31-year-old shared that she was “overwhelmed and emotional” after her baby shower.

At the event, the Loose Women panellist wore a long pink dress and a Rapunzel style braid with pink flowers.

She shared images from the shower on Instagram, which she captioned: “The Baby Shower. Feeling so overwhelmed and emotional… What a beautiful day.

“My sister arranged a baby shower for me and our little girl and it was so special.

“I love you Jem Jem to the moon and back. I can’t believe she’s nearly here. So grateful for everything. And thank you Sun for shinning today.”

The former X-Factor contestant announced her pregnancy in June and said she has “never been so grateful”.

Ms Solomon is already mother to Zachary, 13, Leighton, nine, from previous relationships as well as her son Rex, two, who she shares with Mr Swash.

She is also stepmother to Joe’s son Harry, 14, from his relationship with ex Emma Sophocleous.
