Stacey Solomon has addressed whether she'll ever returning to singing professionally after returning to screens with her new TV show. Fans of the Loose Women star will know presenting wasn't her first gig as her career launched on The X Factor.

Stacey appeared on Simon Cowell's ITV singing competition back in 2009 where she finished in third place behind runner-up Olly Murs and eventual winner Joe McElderry. It was the following year that she appeared on the tenth series of I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here!, which she won, before her career on the small screen was launched.

The 34-year-old has recently returned to screens major move following the recent end of Sort Your Life Out. The popular BBC One show aired the final episode of its third series earlier this month. It returned to the BBC last month and once again saw Stacey and her team - Dilly Carter, Iwan Carrington and Rob Bent - help new families complete a life-changing declutter of their homes.

But following the end of series three, Stacey wasn't away from screens for long as her new show Renovation Rescue has began on Channel 4 and according to the broadcaster it sees Stacey "come to the rescue of homeowners who've been left high and dry by their builders, as she helps them salvage their half-built homes without breaking the bank."

During a recent appearance on This Morning on Monday (April 15), Stacey was quizzed by Ben Shephard, who once hosted The X Factor's spin-off show The Xtra Factor, on whether she would ever return to her roots.

"Only for my grandma at the care home, at her request, she loves a sing song," she said when asked if she still sings now. She went on: "Do you know what, Ben? I love singing, but I love singing with no pressure with no sort of like worry or fear that if someone's going to like it or not. I just love doing it for me.

"So I sing for my family and whenever they wheel me out, I'm like one of them, you know when dad goes 'My daughter can sing! She'll sing.' They wheel me out on special occasions and I'll do it."

The mum-of-five also said she never expected when she auditioned for The X Factor 15 years ago that she would achieve such a successful TV career. "I feel exactly the same," she said. "It's weird because the other day I was thinking about X Factor and what an incredible experience that was and how I never really imagine going any further than that. I remember saying to my mum, If this is it, great! It was so incredible. I just never imagined myself even to get to have that experience.

"To think that was 15 years ago blows my mind. I never thought I'd still have a job or be working in [TV] so I feel really lucky. And I know people say 'It's not luck' But it is. I work really hard and I'll give my everything to any opportunity that's given to me. But I'm lucky to even get those opportunities in the first place, so every day I feel really lucky."

Meanwhile, Stacey was also left jokingly responded to claims she was a 'p***take' at her wedding to Joe Swash. Comedian Rob Beckett opened up about the Pickle Cottage ceremony during an episode of his Sky Max show, Rob Beckett's Smart TV. In a clip from his show, posted on Instagram, Rob was asking his guests including This Morning presenter Alison Hammond and comedian Josh Widdicombe about whether a woman should propose to a man.

The show host then went on to recall a moment from Stacey and Joe's wedding in the summer of 2022 which prompted laughter from his fellow stars. Rob said: The biggest p*** take is being a guest at a wedding. I arrived on time. We sat down outside, it was red hot, it was Joe Swash and Stacey Solomon's wedding. I'm sat in the sun in their beautiful garden, it's red hot, 15 minutes late already, but fair enough. Getting ready, whatever. Fine, I was sat on my phone flicking through and I see on Stacey Solomon's Insta.

"Go on her story, she's one minute ago, 'running a bath for the big day'. I could pop back home and change. You're having a f***ing bath while I'm in your garden." Stacey saw the funny side of Rob's reveal and she commented on the Instagram post, writing after a series of laughing emojis: "Couldn’t go down the aisle with hairy legs could I".
