Stacey Solomon's show Renovation Rescue took an unexpected turn when she clashed with her husband Joe Swash over their garage conversion.

A fiery exchange erupted between the pair as former EastEnders star Joe questioned Stacey's approach to the garage transformation. He exclaimed: "What have you done to my garage?" making light of the situation, he compared the makeover to how they manage their relationship dynamics.

He said: "The proportions of this garage is the proportions of how our relationship works," before stating that Stacey dominates with 85 per cent while he occupies only 15 per cent. Stacey quickly said: "Well, we might as well continue as we started."

Adding in a comment to viewers, she quipped, reports the Daily Star, that it's better if one person takes charge of the DIY tasks, cheekily adding: "Because I'm much better at it than Joe!"

Joe attempted to negotiate his role in the project, suggesting a compromise: "Do me a favour, we'll do one brick each, yeah?" Elsewhere in the programme, Stacey provided support to a Devon couple who tragically lost £300,000 to a fraudulent scheme, according to reports from Express.

Overwhelmed with emotion, the couple shared their tumultuous experience with the television presenter; they faced everything from health scares to builder woes. The wife had a close brush with death during a Covid scare, leaving the husband fearing he might lose her.

"I had oxygen canisters at home - [the virus] knocked me for six," she disclosed. Their dream of a perfect Devon home turned sour when an inspection found their £300,000 renovation to be below par, sending them back to square one.

With their budget slashed to a mere £30,000, a fraction of its original size, they turned to Stacey in desperation to salvage their building disaster. The Loose Women star was taken aback by what she saw.

"It doesn't look like we spent that much from the outside," the couple confessed, prompting Stacey to reply: "I say it in the nicest way possible - it shouldn't look like this on that budget! ".

Feeling defeated, they revealed: "At one point we were only left with one wall in the house. We lost the passion completely and it became a chore.

"They've not just taken your money, they've taken time away from your family," Stacey expressed compassionately, understanding the couple's struggles with rogue builders. Without hesitation, she offered a comforting embrace and vowed: "We are gonna do whatever we can to make this work!".

As they completed challenging tasks with the goal of reducing expenditure, the picturesque beach house progressively took shape. Touched by their work, Stacey emotionally remarked in the end: "I wanna move in!".
