Comic book writer Stan Lee was known for making a cameo in every movie in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

The Hollywood legend, who was instrumental to the success of the Marvel comic book empire, created characters from Spider-Man to the Hulk, Captain America and Iron Man.

And as the entertainment world mourns one of its best-loved minds, many have turned back to remember the split seconds where he stole the camera.

Lee is believed to have had a cameo part in every film he's every produced, since the Trial of the Hulk, a TV movie from 1989.

So here's a look back at some of his best moments.

He interrupted Robert Downey Jr as a FedEx driver in Captain America: Civil War, after previously playing a postman in the Fantastic Four.

He offered some words of wisdom to Peter Parker in Spider-Man.

He even had a spot on The Simpsons.

He played the role of hairdresser to an unwilling Thor in Ragnarok.

But perhaps his greatest "Hitchcock" moment is when he gets in his signature catchphrase after a drinking match with the norse god.
