Star chef returns for Bolton Food and Drink Festival 2024

Ainsley Harriott is set to join the star-studded chef line-up for the 2024 Bolton Food and Drink Festival.

Regarded as one of the best chefs in the world, Harriott will be making his fourth appearance at the UK's biggest food and drink festival.

Fellow TV chef, James Martin, is also on the roster for the four-day event taking place from Friday, August 23 to Monday, August 26.

In Harriot's comeback to the festival kitchen on August 24, attendees can look forward to two cooking demonstrations at 11am and 1pm.

A Caribbean-inspired dish will be available for guests to feast on while watching the demos.

Lunchtime guests will be in for a treat with a twist on a local delicacy — a Carrs Pasties Jamaican jerk chicken pasty barm.

Harriott will also be hosting a special Rum Fiesta event at 3.30pm on the same day, while a rum cake with creme fraiche is being served.

Chief executive of Bolton Council, Sue Johnson, said: “We’re ecstatic to add Ainsley Harriott to the lineup for this year’s festival as it further enhances the offer across the weekend.

“The festival is for everyone, and we work tirelessly each year to ensure we’re providing the best possible event for residents and visitors alike.

“By doing so, we help bring people together from diverse backgrounds, driving the visitor economy in Bolton and getting the town centre bursting with life.”

The bank holiday weekend will also feature free regional chef demos, children’s activities, live music and bars, artisan stalls, street entertainment and special events, including comedy dining.

Last year’s multi-award-winning festival drew more than half a million visitors to the town centre.
