Star Wars 9 trailer expected to be released ahead of Avengers: Endgame in April

The release date for the first Star Wars 9 trailer has reportedly been revealed.

A new report suggests that the world’s first look at the final film in the Skywalker saga will arrive in April, most likely during Star Wars Celebration, which takes place in Chicago between 11-15 April.

Fans have been waiting for details about the new film for several months now. Earlier this week, an official Twitter account linked to the franchise teased the arrival of something big, with many hoping it would be a title announcement following news that JJ Abrams had wrapped production.

An April release date for the Episode IX makes sense considering teasers for both The Force Awakens and The Last Jedi were released in that month of their respective years of releases.

Star Wars News Net reports that there are plans to attach it to Avengers: Endgame, which makes sense considering both are affiliated with Disney.

Last week, HBO president Casey Bloys accidentally revealed that Game of Thrones showrunners David Benioff and DB Weiss’s forthcoming Star Wars project will be a trilogy of films

Star Wars: Episode IX will be released in cinemas on 20 December.
