Star Wars fans can look forward to a brand new game following the release of the immensely popular Star Wars Jedi: Survivor earlier this year – with one of Ginny & Georgia's stars among its cast.

That game was set in between Revenge of the Sith and A New Hope, in the same year that the Disney+ series Obi-Wan Kenobi was set. However, new open-world game Star Wars Outlaws will tread a less familiar section in the Star Wars timeline.

Outlaws will be set in between Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi as the Galactic Empire pursues the last remnants of the Rebel Alliance. Meanwhile, the criminals in the galaxy thrive during this time period and, in Outlaws, fans will play as the scoundrel Kay Vess.

Kay will be joined by loyal companion Nix as they try to execute a daring heist in the Outer Rim. Kay and Nix will have to fight, steal, and outwit their way through numerous dangerous circumstances as their status as some of the galaxy's most wanted rises.

Notably, Kay is voiced by Humberly González, who is best known for playing Sophie Sanchez in Netflix's Ginny & Georgia. Nix is played by Star Wars legend Dee Bradley Baker, who voices multiple characters in several Star Wars projects including the clones in The Bad Batch.

The game will be brought to life by Ubisoft and LucasFilm Games, with development led by Massive Entertainment. It is being touted as the first-ever open-world Star Wars game and will release on Xbox Series X|S consoles, PlayStation 5, and Windows PC in 2024.

A first look at the gameplay will be shown on Monday, June 12 during Ubisoft Forward, which starts at 10am PDT/6pm BST. Fans can watch via and can be watched on YouTube and Twitch.

Julian Gerighty, Creative Director at Massive Entertainment, said: "When we first imagined the first open-world Star Wars game, we explored where and when it could take place, and quickly realized that we had all the right ingredients for the journey of a scoundrel."

"These outlaws live life under the thumb of the Galactic Empire, but can still thrive given the opportunities that the criminal underworld opens up for people looking to take advantage of the turmoil.

"The time is ripe for a new outlaw to make their name, and Kay Vess is written in the stars."

The Mandalorian seasons 1-3 are streaming on Disney+. Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker and the entire Skywalker Saga are available on DVD, Blu-ray and 4K now, as well as on Disney+.
