Stars Dress Up For Jackson's Cancer Ball

Colin Firth, Margot Robbie, David Walliams and other stars have joined Samuel L Jackson for a fashion event to help men spot and fight cancer.

The event was organised by the actor's charity One For The Boys, and featured catwalk shows by designers including Asprey, Fendi and Georgio Armani.

Jackson said: "It's a vitally important campaign because so many men, you know, in the UK die from cancer every year.

"There are a lot more women who are diagnosed with cancer but that's because they go to a doctor, they talk to each other and they recognise symptoms.

"Men don't. And we want to make men aware that there are symptoms and there are symptoms that they should be aware of and they should get checked."

Held at the Natural History Museum, the fashion show was attended by the likes of The Hobbit star Luke Evans, Star Trek's Simon Pegg and Wolf Of Wall Street actress Robbie.

Jackson is something of a style icon himself, having famously appeared in movies such as Pulp Fiction and Shaft, and he admitted he has kept some of the clothes he has worn in those films.

Robbie revealed some details about the new adaptation of Tarzan, in which she has been cast as Jane Porter.

She said: "It's a slightly different take on the traditional Tarzan story. It takes place later on, it's not really finding Tarzan in the jungle. It's a great action adventure love story."

Jackson will also appear in Tarzan with True Blood actor Alexander Skarsgard starring in the main role. Robbie told reporters about how imposing Skarsgard is in person.

She said: "Yeah, he's really big, I look like a hobbit next to him. And we were doing camera tests the other day and my fingertips were literally at his kneecaps and I was like ... oh my God. Yeah, he's really big."
