If you're feeling a bit of travel envy from all the holiday snaps on social media, one TikTok user has shared her secret to affordable globetrotting.

TikTok's @emsbudgettravel revealed that not every trip has to break the bank, with one of her "favourite" destinations costing less than £200 for the entire visit.

She named Bosnia and Herzegovina as one of Europe's most "underrated countries in Europe", and revealed all in a minute-long video captioned: "My favourite country of 2024 and one of the cheapest and most underrated in Europe! Perfect for a budget couples holiday or girls' trip."

Having visited nine countries already this year, she declared Bosnia and Herzegovina as her top pick. Describing it as a "hidden gem", she mentioned that budget airline Ryanair has recently started offering affordable flights to the country.

Em spent four days there and managed to keep her total expenditure to a mere £158.44 - an impressive feat considering this covered "flights, accommodation, food, activities, transport - literally everything".

She confirmed the country certainly lives up to its reputation as one of the "cheapest countries to visit in Europe". During her stay, Em explored the capital city of Sarajevo, describing it as a "beautiful city" where she "felt really safe".

She praised the locals for their friendliness and highlighted the country's "stunning scenery", which includes "mountains, rivers, lakes and waterfalls".

Em also recommended a visit to Mostar, a two-hour drive from Sarajevo, describing it as "magical" and "the perfect place to explore for hours".

"I definitely wanted more than the four days I had here," she expressed, describing it as "an amazing trip".

In the comments section, one individual mentioned that Bosnia and Herzegovina was "grabbing" their attention. Others were surprised at how affordable it was.

Another person commented: "Mostar is honestly one of the prettiest places I've been to! the terrace restaurant overlooking the river... beautiful!"
