We’ve loved having Steph McGovern back on our screens this year.

Since having her baby in November, the 37-year-old returned to telly with her new health series with Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall, Easy Ways to Live Well.

Viewers loved Steph’s funny takes on learning how to be healthier and she even tried a spot of pregnant bellydancing.

However, one of the side affects of the show is that she now feels guilty when doing her food shopping if some of the items in her trolly aren’t “healthy”.

During episode one of the series, Steph visited a scientist where she submitted an analysis of her faeces in order to find out more about the bacteria which lies inside her gut and she was shocked to discover just how much “unhealthy” food she was eating.

The revelations led to her changing up her diet to include more gut-friendly foods without completely cutting out things that may be deemed “unhealthy”.

But it’s taken a toll on her food shopping.

“Eeee doing a food shop after you’ve presented a health show is tricky,” she tweeted yesterday.

“Not normally bothered when people nosey at what I’m putting in my trolley....but now I’m feeling the pressure to ONLY buy healthy (then get family to go back for ‘extras’ I didn’t dare buy). I am daft.”

She added: “The thing is, at no point in the show do we say don’t eat any naughty stuff anymore. That’s just unrealistic. So I have no idea why I’m getting the guilt sweats every time I go to the supermarket.”

Luckily Steph’s followers sympathise with the pressures with several offering their own supermarket shopping tips and telling her not to be so hard on herself.

One fan wrote: “You've not long grown a human and pushed it out of you. Think you deserve to cut yourself a bit of slack and buy all the chocolate.”

While another added: “Hide the unhealthy at the bottom of the trolley. Put the fruit and veg on top or say your shopping for your Mam.”
