Stephanie Davis may not have been a winner at the British Soap Awards last night but she declared she has got her “happy ending” regardless.

The Hollyoaks star - who was nominated for a Best Actress award at the ceremony in Manchester last night - dazzled on the red carpet in a pink floral gown with boyfriend and co-star Owen Warner, 19, by her side.

Just hours earlier Davis, 26, had shared photos of her bruised body on Instagram as she reflected on her difficult past.

The former Celebrity Big Brother star wrote: “For where I am in life now, I’m winning. It’s all about my beautiful baby boy & if I’ve made him proud, then that’s all that matters!

“I’ve over come so much, physical abuse broken nose broken ribs, severed tendons in my hand, bitten face bust lip, the list goes on, the worst mental abuse I wouldn’t wish on anyone, pregnant alone for 9 months, giving birth alone, lies and manipulation, Lies in the press, drinking to block the trauma and PTSD. being lonely oh so lonely & drowning, no one listening, to finally trying to end my life...TO NOW...

“I fought through, I have worked my ASS off on my self, in work, and EVERY aspect of my life! I struggled being a single mum, but I have done it, I’ve been knocked down massively but got back up & got back up & got back up again. Caben has a happy mummy ( still a tired one haha but happy) I met my best friend owen and... I finally FINALLY got My happy ending! [sic]”

Davis gave birth to son Caben in January 2017. His father - model and reality TV star Jeremy McConnell, 29, initially denied paternity. They shared a turbulent relationship and Davis claimed McConnell crushed a glass into her hand during one row, severing two severed tendons which resulted in her undergoing surgery.

Davis - who has fought a public battle with alcohol and spent eight weeks in rehab - previously spoke about trying to end her life.
